Viva La Family!

The image above is from the Chichen Itza which is one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

That’s pretty incredible and this June I’m going to have a chance to see this firsthand.

But that’s not the most incredible part of the trip to me. Please read the letter below about how you can help send me and my team to Mexico this summer!

Dear friends,

Greetings! It’s been awhile since I’ve written a letter like this so I’ll do my best to make it quick and personal.

I’ve been given the opportunity through my job to lead a team of students and their parents to Mexico this summer. Over my last 10+ years of student ministry one of the trending challenges that continues to break my heart is the breakdown of the family. In fact in our middle school ministry alone the topic of divorce and broken families has become a regular conversation.

One of the things that our staff team has been praying and dreaming about is providing an opportunity for a family to have an experience that provides some fun memories, but also has some deep spiritual value to it. This trip will do just that. We’ll be working with one of North Point’s partner churches in Merida, Mexico named Shalom Church. North Point has been sending teams down to this church for over 7 years now.

Our trip is a first of it’s kind- a middle school family trip. It’s designed to give our mission trip team a great chance to serve the church in Mexico and also to grow together as a team and as families. We’ll be doing some construction on a new piece of property that the church is developing for a new campus as well as helping lead some summer kids programs similar to VBS. The team will be made up of rising 8th graders and one of their parents. We will be serving and experiencing the trip together, which gives the families a chance to partner together in serving. We are excited what could happen in the hearts of a student and their parent by having this opportunity.

For me to be able to lead this trip I would like to ask you to consider supporting me prayerfully and financially. I feel a great need to raise my support quickly so I can lead by example. I don’t think it’s wise for me to be challenging them to trust God and asking others to provide if I am not doing the same.

The cost of our trip is $1,900. For my blog readers who are interested in supporting our trip, you can do so online. To support me online please go to www.goglobalx.org. Select “give” at the top of the page. At the bottom select “Merida, Mexico” for country. Then select “Mexico, Merida Middle School 3- 06/09/10-06/26-10” and then enter my name “Jason Carr.”

I know that times are tight for many of us and anything you can give is more than appreciated. If you are not in a place where you can financially support the trip, please know that your prayers are as important as anything else! Please send me your email using the address below and I will add you to my list with prayer requests for our team and trip.

I’m excited about the opportunity to lead this team and to partner with so many of you in investing in families not only locally, but also in Mexico. I’m excited about the chance to provide an opportunity for our local families to take a step of faith together as parents and students. We are praying that God will use this trip as a great step in the relationships of the families going.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about our trip at. We’ll be setting up a team blog as we get closer and I’ll get that link to you. Thanks for taking time to catch up and consider supporting us!

Gratefully,

- Jason
