Sunday Night Dismount

Welcome to my new weekly Sunday night catch up post called “Sunday Night Dismount!”

If you’ve read my book you know the “Dismount” section is about taking time to look back and see where you are at before you move forward. My plan is to do a regular post to simply do that. Share what’s going on and catch up a bit… so here we go:

Xtreme: This is one of the best yet craziest times of year at Xtreme. Walking Wisely is a few weeks away which means we are working hard to pull off the biggest logistical event of the year. Things are coming together but there is a lot to do and make happen between now and then. I’ve been blown away (yet, not surprised) with how our leaders are just killing it this year. Love leading such incredible volunteers. It’s also a great time to watch our team do what they do- everyone owning different parts and watching it all come together. Heck, the boss man was even out of the country for a week and things are moving at a quick pace which speaks to his leadership in letting us do what we do. Great stuff.

Reading: I need to cut down how many books I’m reading and just focus on 1 or 2. Right now I’m doing a reading plan with my adult small group which is about 10-12 chapters of the Bible every 2 days. I’m also making my way through “Linchpin” “Primal” and “Middle School Ministry” and a few others.

Music: Listening to a ton to of new music lately. I’m liking the new CD from Chasen a lot. Also been sampling the new CD’s this week from Fair, Starfield, Satellites & Sirens, Stellar Kart, Sanctus Real and a few others. Been a good week for new music in my world. Wrote reviews this past week for the Chasen and Starfield for YouthWalk… which means I like those CD’s a lot.

Writing: Working out the final kinks to having the online store on this blog launched soon. To launch it I’m going to past a video we made with some folks talking about HALT! Really hoping to have that live sooner than later. Work on book 2 is happening.. but a little slow right now, planning on hitting it hard in March when Winter camps are over.

Personal: As I mentioned in my last post, it’s again a season where some challenging things are happening to those around me. As far as how I am personally, I am alright! I’m on the flip side of a great season of God doing some great things in my own personal journey with Him, I’ve been learning a lot about how I am wired and how I function. That’s a wordy way to say, I’m learning a lot of who God has made me to be.

Random: For some reason, I’m digging the Winter Olympics this year. I love the Summer Olympics but have never really gotten into the Winter Olympics. Cool stuff. I’m also beginning to plan and put the pieces together for some trips I want to take this year and some more major house projects that need to be done. Which means I need to put together a plan to sell about 100,000 books… ish.

That’s it for the first Sunday Night Dismount. More to come soon.
