Sunday Night Dismount
Xtreme: The post WWW week was good. Loved hearing stories from leaders this morning about last weekend and the relational change that was built up. The next big things up for me in my role at Xtreme is stepping into leader recruitment season as we get ready for the next batch of 6th graders (they keep coming… every year!) and also working on some things for our Mexico Mission trip this summer. I’ve had that on the back burner for a while but need to get some things moving for our team to be fully ready come June. I’m also excited about doing some research on a little project I’ve been talking about with some of our staff and leaders about lately. We’ve discovered something we want to investigate so our next step is to collect some data from students to help us pray, process and potentially plan a system to help with this topic. Yes, I’m being vague. Will maybe share about that down the road.
Music & Reading: Got the new Robbie Seay Band CD this week to review. I’m liking that a lot. Also listening to the new NewSpring Live (Thanks J!) and the new Jennifer Knapp records. Finished “Forgotten God” by Francis Chan. Have a pile of books to choose from, not sure what’s next yet. We are about to finish a book as a staff team too and need to decide what’s next for us to read. This is good accountability to have something decided and moving by next Sunday!
Writing: I’m back! Well, after a bit of a hiatus I’m back to working on book 2 right now. Lots of moving parts to it right now, working on streamlining it and getting it all together. I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve got outside of number 2 ideas for 2 or 3 other books I’d like to be a part of. It’s taking some work to get ‘ol ADD boy here to stay focused on this one. It will happen…sometime.
Personal: Had a great time speaking at a Student Venture and a FCA meeting this week. Have a few other speaking things coming up over the next few weeks. Now that the weather is turning to Spring it’s almost time to get back to some (outdoor) house projects. Need to come up with a plan to get the back porch finished up soon. (By plan I mean get some serious work done without a lot of capitol.) It can be done… just takes time and patience.. and friends who pick up the phone when you call!
